Levi and Diana got us started thinking about this. Now that he has done quite a bit of shows and media appearances post-Idol, we have enough materials to build a Street Team Portfolio. The portfoilo can be a DVD disk plus some booklet of printed materials. Once put together, each of us can burn the file onto a DVD and print out the booklet, and take it to your local R&B station, state fair event coordinators, indy labels, etc. And if he so desires, Anoop can use it when he goes to talk to producers in LA. The booklet may include his bio (which is being discussed here: www.anooptroop.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=campaignboard&action=display&thread=218) as well as some photos or reprint of press interviews. The DVD should include his best performance videos, studio recordings with slide shows, and such. Of course the portfolio can include more things I haven't mentioned. Let's brainstorm in terms of: (1) Which press materials/pics/vids/studio, etc. are best for the portfolio; and (2) what else we can include.

I'll start. I think this interview should definitely go in the DVD. He defines what he wants to do while being humorous and witty with Jim. www.mtv.com/videos/news/413055/anoop-desai-likes-ne-yos-rb-style.jhtml ^^^Can anyone convert this to mp4? As for pictures for the slide show, this is my fave pic at the moment: ETA: Anita converted the mtv interview into mp4. Thanks!

Great idea. We got a ton of very good material. Let's identify various sources to review and revisit American idol website, Youtube, Anoopdog.com, Noop-dogg.com, Facebook groups, Myspace, and I am sure few others. Even if we pick top 3 to 5 from each source, we will have plenty to work with.

THANKS ANITA for converting the interview to mp4. You will be an extremely important part of this portfolio project.

This is a fantastic idea, Yoko! In terms of legalities, do we need to get permission from any of the sources to use photos/interviews etc? Or are we assuming that because we find information on-line (therefore making it "public" info) that it's safe to use? I would guess if we credit the source, it would be okay...what do you think?
Off I go to do some hunting!

Here's one of my fave images (as if you couldn't tell from my avatar..LOL). I know this is an older one, but I think it's great at showing how versatlie his look/style can be (the hair is HOT)...

Hey Anjana! I LOVE that pic! And I don't think we need to worry about the copyright issues because we are making an unofficial promo materials for private viewing.

Maybe we should pick which we think is the best performance for each of his tour / idol songs. But I guess the ones he sang on tour will be better because that's where he converted some fans

anoop needs a portofolio full of photo shoots. i know this photographer and he is damnnnnn good, but not in the entertainment business...but he is hella good. I wish it was easy to contact anoop and say HEY, LETS HAVE A PHOTOSHOOT LOL. I know this guy will charge quite a bit, but not nearly as much as a "professional" I have a link to his myspace and maybe u guys can see for urselves if u like his work. The ones he has posted are just the ones he does for fun. none of them are "professional" photo shoots.

I wonder what his contract says about photoshoot. If he can hire his own photographer and do his own shoots, that would be great. I guess we could tweet him and ask him??? Hmmmm.

Can we help style him for the photoshoots?!? I would love to get my hands in there to mess up his hair with a little (okay, maybe a lot of) hair wax....LOL! I think the idea of pro shots is a great one, Diana. I wonder if he gets any press kit material through his booking agent? I would assume they would create something similar.... Ok, here's another image that I love - from Idol Tour...

This interview should be in the DVD. It shows his interview skills and cool, laid back, and collected personality.

Maybe we could include this in his discography. This is the start of his journey that touched our hearts so it is really memorable

I just came across this thread and all the decisions may have already been made but just thought I'd toss in my two cents...
I like all the videos on his office youtube....definitely his two originals ..as long as he's ok with that. and Mad from the tour. Would it be legal to use ones from the show....like Everything I Do and AOMM and I like Caught Up.
there's a lot of photos from the Raleigh show that were terrific - at first I didn't like his clothes being kind of crumpled but then decided I like seeing him a little rough around the edges. There's definitely some hot looking pictures there. I love the profile picture he has on his myspace. And the one at the Dodges game with his hat backwards. I like ones in that white jacket and sunglasses when he first arrived at the mansion. I'd just want there to be a big variety of looks....styled, casual, performing and not.
I LOVE the Slezak interviews...he comes off so well. And maybe one of the Raliegh ones with Kathy...he was so relaxed.

LOL at "crumpled clothes."
No we have not made a portfoio. It seems like we are kinda wait and see right now, with him tweeting about writing a lot. I wish I knew for sure that he needs a portfolio.

well, ya know, he kinda had that just rolled out of bed look ....or since he was at the Fair, the just rolled out of the hay look ; )
He really is tweeting a lot....he seems more open to sharing what's going on with him. Especially love hearing about the writing. I'm still stunned that he came up with two truly good songs in such a short period of time. Impressive

Impressive According to David Mikush's Myspace, "give in to her love" was written primarily by David and Merrit in 2007. I think Anoop's involvement in that was minimal. On the other hand, LUVR does seem to be actually written for Anoop, from what I gather on Twitter conversations/announcements.
