I am a 67 year old male, retired, educator and I started watching AI Season 4. I grown to really love the show and its format. At the end of Season 4 I bought Carrie Underwood's first album and it was terrific and her second album was almost as good. After Season 5, I bought Daughtry's first album and it was genius I thought. Also, I bought Kellie Pickler's first album and thought it was terrific for someone with no previous musical experience. Her writing efforts were sensational. Taylor Hicks' first album was "unlistenable" and I didn't purchase it, but did make the mistake of buying Cat McPhee's and it was equally as "unlistenable".
Season 6 rolled around and I thought the talent was very thin and Jordin Sparks' first album was juvenile and insulting for her voice. And for whatever reason, probably because I really liked Blake, I bought his album and played it once or twice.
Season 7 was one full of talented and attractive performers. David Cooks album was such a disappointment..and even worse was Archie's I just bought Brooke White's and I listen to it all the time. There are three wonderful original songs on it.
So I am trying to say something here....19E has not always helped the winning artist to produce much of an album in my opinion. I just heard Kris Allen's first single and if that is representative of all his songs, I will not buy the Kris Allen album..he should go the country route. I am very much looking forward to purchasing Adam's, Allison's and Anoop's..don't even have to hear them in advance. The three best voices since Carrie and Chris Daughtry.
Anoop I am anxiously awaiting your future album and performances. Thank you so much for sharing your voice with all of us.

Well, I'm super glad that you're looking forward to hearing Anoop's upcoming album (YES, HE WILL HAVE ONE SOON) and even more importantly I love how you said that, in your opinion, he has the best voice since Carrie.
We all love and believe in anoop's talent which is why we try and promote him as much as we can.
I can't help but disagree with you a bit on the other idols that u mentioned. I guess we all our opinions about David Cook and Archie. Either way, thank you for showing your support to Anoop. The Troopers definetely appreciate it.

I agree that 19E doesn't always develop an artist. They just get that album out there as fast as they can before the next sesaon of AI starts and everyone forgets about these people.
I watched all 8 seasons of AI. I bought Kelly Clarkson's and Justin Guarini's albums. Liked them both. The only other albums I bought were Elliott Yamin's, Blake Lewis' and David Cook's. All are better since they left the show (and I expect no less from the current crop of contestants). Elliott has such a passion for music (and I'm and R&B girl) and he is great to watch LIVE! Blake's album was 19E trying to make him a POP star. It's good, but Blake is better than that. Pop is not really where Blake shines. He's more electonica/dance. His new cd comes out Oct 6th. Blake is also great live since his show is organic - he creates as he goes along and no two shows are the same. David Cook is a rock star. His cd is not the pop crap he sang when he was on AI. So I can see why some people would be disappointed. I never understood the hype around Archie. He's a cute kid, but has no personality onstage and sings at one level the whole time.
As for Sesaon 8:
I will def buy Anoop's album. Without hearing anything first. I have that much confidence in his voice! I have already heard so many great songs from him and I KNOW his album will be one of my favorites! Listen to his studio versions from AI. INCREDIBLE! No other contestant has THAT going for them! He can sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and it would sound amazing, but to get him on the radio is gonna take some R&B prowess. If he can snag a duet with Ne-Yo, T-Pain, or the like, he will have a great career. His niche in the business is dorky R&B. Nobody else is doing that.
I will also buy Matt's album, and pray that he leaves off the Fray songs he likes to sing. He is best when he does the jazzy soul piano stuff. But I guess 1 or 2 songs that I don't like are gonna be on his cd.
I will probably buy Michael's cd, but I might wanna hear a song or two first. If he's going country, I might not like him as much anymore. But because he's such a sweet guy, I will check him out.
I might buy Allison's album. Hopefully a producer will teach her to pull back sometimes.
I would need to hear a song or two from Adam before buying an album. If he screeches on his cd, then I won't buy it. However, I can only imagine how "entertaining" he will be when he has a solo show. But I have a feeling he might end up touring gay clubs when his buzz dies down.
I will need to hear a couple songs from winner Kris Allen before purchasing also. He's good but he just doesn't stand out to me. I hope he can write songs.
Just my opinion.

It's spelled Kris Allen to the OP, please spell his name right. His new single is, I believe, GREAT. On first listen, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 201354. I guess it's right up my alley of musical taste, but I highly doubt it's anything to be considered a dud. And if the single is any indication of his album, I will definitely be buying it.
I'm glad you think Anoop's voice is great, as fans we do too and we can't wait until he's signed and releases his own music. I will definitely buy his him album as I bought all his AI itunes songs proudly.

I changed the spelling, because I really like Kris Allen and I am not interested in upsetting his fans. In my message, I spelled it both ways, because "Kris" is a grils name. Kris is the first male I have seen with the "k". I wish him well and think his first song and album will do very well sales wise. My point was that I don't think his producers are doing him any favors with that song.

Hmmm, i actually like the song and i honestly think they're trying to help him make good music. It sounds like a song kris would sing especially cause of the message. He did say his album was gonna be a bit more rockish with a pop/punk twist to it. I've always thought and still believe kris will be quite successful. Hopefully its true
