Mike Pleasant is the man who books the entertainment for the fair. Please tell him how much you enjoyed Anoop being there this year and how you would love to see him there next year.

I know everyone who's been to the concert are still on cloud 9 and may be feeling a bit disoriented because of the high that Anoop put you onto but.... Could anyone have like a short narrative of the concert went?Like his spiels, did he look nervous, how were the other band members, how was the audience turnout, what songs were the most applauded, did you see any familiar faces perhaps, how was the sound system, any guffaws, things like that..... Despite some bum notes on some songs(when Anoop seemed to strain on the higher notes---and I fully understand considering the short amount of time he was able to put this together), Anoop's voice is as BEAUTIFUL as ever..... .What is also commendable is that they were able to include songs which required a lot of production/backing tracks (haven't heard BUDDY) like Down, Used to Love U, I need a girl...I'm not a music expert but I suppose these things require a lot of planning and a lot of work....so KUDOS to everyone! I am thinking this is one of the reasons why Anoop must have strained his voice (pre-production work plus rehearsals for a 14-song solo concert in just under a month...impressive).....and he kind of looked tired ....or maybe it's just the pictures...he looked like the areas under his eyes were darker than usual.... Anyway, I'd also like to add that his set list was mighty IMPRESSIVE, FREAKIN' IMPRESSIVE.....ANOOP single-handedly made me give R&B a second look (or a second listen more appropriately)...the surgence of R&B hiphop music with all the invectives and the bad image that many(but not all) hiphop artists turned me off bigtime and I'm happy that just about this time---when Anoop is also trying to make it in the biz---- R&B is fast becoming about music, singing and emotions again and less about backbeats, hooks, lyrics that connote anger and intolerance (how many times can you call a female a b*tch and a hoe in one song or rap I cannot understand....).Love that artists like Maxwell, Ne-Yo, Raphael Saadiq, Jazmine Sullivan, Chrisette Michele (I didn't even know who Jazmine and Chrisette were before Anoop mentioned them) are in the headlines....I also like India. Arie, Craig David, Musiq Soulchild, Common, Mos Def & Talib Kweli, Lyfe Jennings, Donnell Jones and others I have been discovering only lately (it doesn't help that our local radio stations hardly play R&B except for those by Beyonce and the more popular record bars don't sell albums by these artists so I don't really know all their songs....good thing there's google and YT).I'm digressing...this is about Anoop.... I can't thank him enough for making me discover the world of R&B music .... this is how I know that Anoop has REAL PASSION for this type of music because through his singing I somehow felt what he did and why(if that makes sense).....and I think THAT'S REAL POWER...... This concert proves that because it's all Anoop and nobody else influencing him....this set he did in the concert is the group pf songs I love the most (afterwhich the ones he did with the clefs comes second and those he did in AI comes last---most of what I heard in AI was a great pitch-perfect voice with no real passion ...a disconnection sort of...idk, it just seems Anoop was so different in AI)..... I truly hope and pray that Anoop gets signed soon and when he does he gets the opportunity to not just make and sell records but TO SHARE HIS PASSION FOR THIS MUSIC.

I can't write long right now but I wanted to say this.
I was pleasantly surprised how comfortable he looked up on the stage. He moved about during the entire concert with no awkwardness at all. You know? He was a bit awkward on TV? I guess he learned a lot during the AI concert.
And like jga said, the production value of the show was FAR SUPERIOR to what I expected from the extremely brief prep period. I was expecting a short, ~6 song show just with a guitar accompanying. Props to everyone especially Pablo, the musical director.

We didn't get there until right at 7:30.....was hoping to get there earlier so I could find you guys too! We blew out of there after the last song cause we went to the Carolina game after the concert! I was so proud of him!!! Really, really loved that original song he and David wrote! And my husband actually loved his surprise concert visit for his birthday!

In my opinion.....(and granted it is quite biased where Anoop is concerned)....He did a fabulous job on his first solo concert, considering where it was, (the acoustics were not good and sound system was terrible)I think the videos you see on this site have a much better sound quality than there was in the arena......Such a difference from the high quality of the AI tour. But, that being said, he seemed very comfortable and seemed to enjoy himself....doing what he loves to do! I'm sure it helped having all his buddies on stage with him....very similar to jam sessions they would have while in school. Wish those clefs could have been his backup singers on IDOL!!! haha His set list showed who he is and the music he loves to do, ranging from Donnie Hathaway to Chris Brown to Chrisette Michele. Let's keep our support going.....let's give those youtube videos of his songs tons of hits and get the record industry's attention! We have to get that original song in production so I can buy it on ITUNES!!!!

How was the audience turnout and what songs were the most applauded? Thanks. I read that about 1,800 tickets were sold. I think the audience liked Carlina In My Mind, Used to Love You, Give In To Her Love? Actually I think everyone pretty much enjoyed every song. Obviously more familiar songs got girls screaming more, but even the lesser known songs ppl danced to and stuff.
