After watching the Boston ep., I am realizing that I kinda like watching this show. Haha. Last year I didn't watch it until the Top 36 and then it was an immediate stress, so I don't think I "enjoyed" the show last year, TBH.
I liked the girl who speaks Portugese, and the skinny guy with broken arms.

Well, as you all may know (or not know lol) I've loved American Idol since season 1. I've had my favorites along the way. Last season had a HUGE impact on me so going into season 9 was bitter/sweet. I love that a new group of kids get to have their chance at achieving their dreams but at the same time I thought...nothing can top anoop desai and his fellow season 8 friends.
But as they say...the show must go on. There were a couple of people who have potential. The last girl has a beautiful voice but might be versatile in her style.
The girl who sang "At Last" has a GORGEOUS voice but she may be too young. Unlike Allison, she didn't seem to have the confidence...and we all know that AI can wear you down and she didn't see the type to be able to handle that type of situation. But who knows.
The Tyler guy was quite a character that I liked. Do i think he has what it takes....probably not.
That Rodriguez girl who sang the Alicia keys..she has a pleasant voice but it wasn't good enough for me. To me, if you're gonna sing Alicia...you better sing it in the same note as her because thats what makes the song sound good. It sounded like she went one key lower and didn't sound like she has enough power in her voice. Smooth tone but not much power. She could prove me wrong though.

After the Atlanta episode, I am firmly in Camp General Platt.
Oh, wait, he didn't make it to Hollywood? Well, that's OK. I'm sure AI will bring him back for the finale, for the whole country to sing along with him. I can picture my daughter and myself singing along to our TV with General Platt break-dancing.
It will be such a win. Far more entertaining than the bikini girl with purchased boobs, Norman with his slightly entertaining singing, or Tatiana, who never entertained me. Not to mention his song has a strong message (which I totally agree with - I am a strong advocate for wearing belts), and also General Platt is a Civil Rights hero.

I'm looking forward to a stress-free season 9.
It's been so tempting to look at spoilers! But... I decided I'm not going to because audition rounds are long. If I knew who was making it I think I would feel more bored with the whole thing. I can't wait to get to voting though. That's my fave part. And top 24 format is so much better than the top 36.

Me too. I have refrained from looking at any spoilers on the internet. Especially since now, they supposedly have the list of who made the top 24! NOOOO, I don't want to know! I like the element of surprise. Except last season, when i was just DYING to find out if Anoop had made it LOL.
